Welcome

We are very pleased to invite you to the European RoboCup Junior 2022.
25 years after the first worldwide RoboCup event back in 1997, the 3rd European RoboCup Junior and European RoboCup Middle Size League 2022, aim to set another important milestone in the development of robotics. This event brings together researchers from around the world, including countries such as Croatia, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, The Netherlands, UK and others. About 800 participants are expected as well as 30,000 visitors during the 4 days of the event. Teams will compete in Major categories (MSL and @Home Education), in Junior categories: Soccer, Rescue and OnStage, as well as in other categories like RoboParty Fun Challenge and Junior Small Size League. These challenges have proved to be excellent research projects as well as triggers to spark youngster’s interest in STEM activities. As complex problems require ingenious solutions we expect to see new ideas in mechanical/hardware designs, software development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, image processing, algorithms and many other important areas related to robotics.

Guimarães is the hosting town for the 3rd European RoboCup Junior and European RoboCup Middle Size League 2022 event. It is World Heritage, it was European Capital of Culture in 2012, and it is a friendly, multicultural, historic place with many ancient traditions that blend harmoniously with the young and vibrating ambient. As a touristic place Guimarães has plenty to offer, including several museums and archaeological sites, nature and leisure activities, sports events and tours, a variety of excellent restaurants, Spas and hotels and also plenty of night life as well. Guimarães promotes a large number of cultural events which are particularly famous for its traditional and unique characteristics.
We welcome you all to enjoy both the event and the city as much as possible. I gathered a large group of hard-working, dedicated and fully committed people to help me in supporting you so you can take the most out of this experience.
